HUNA

Time for a new article! I recently found out about HUNA which is a ideology which originates from Hawaii. It’s a very simple, but still interesting ideology based on 7 principles.

1. IKE - our ideas create our reality.
2. KALA - there are no limits.
3. MAKIA - energy flows where attention goes.
4. MANAWA - now is the moment of power.
5. ALOHA - to love is to be happy with.
6. MANA - all power comes from within.
7. PONO - effectiveness is the measure of truth.

Now let’s look a bit deeper at my interpretation of these principles

1. IKE - our ideas create our reality.

Have you heard of the term seeing is believing? It’s crap,  how often do beautiful girls tell themselves they look fat, ugly or whatever.. The scary part is they usually really believe they are fat or ugly, which usually results in anorexia ore bulimia. Believing is seeing would be a more accurate description. People who believe they are beautiful will automaticly be more attractive.

2. KALA - there are no limits.

Obviously there are some limits, for example I can’t fly like superman. I can however fly in a plane. We shouldn’t let our limiting beliefs define us. If you tried and failed you’re in my opinion a success because you tried! Keep failing, keep struggling and you will succeed!


3. MAKIA - energy flows where attention goes. 

Some people keep failing, keep struggling and still don’t succeed. This usually means you either didn’t take full advantage of the failures (making them into learn experiences) or they kept focusing on too much, pick just one or two goals rather than 100 and really work hard for them! If you focus your attention on too much goals, you won’t get the results you want. Set priorities!


4. MANAWA - now is the moment of power.

The only moment we have is right now. Don’t be trapped putting everything off , cause eventually you will miss out on a lot of things. You’ll never know just what opportunities you missed out on cause of this!


5. ALOHA - to love is to be happy with.

Try to love everyone, even the people you don’t really like. Simply cause disliking or hating people will give them power over you, they control how you think, they control how you feel! What other people say about you tells them more about themselves than it really does about you. If your above it, they can’t hurt you!

6. MANA - all power comes from within.

Don’t let outer forces control you. Take responsibility for yourself, your goals, your life and so on! Show what your worth, be willing to take risks and always keep your head up high!


7. PONO - effectiveness is the measure of truth.

Don’t be a fly repeatedly flying against the window, not realizing its closed. If something works use it, if it doesn’t, stop it and try something else.
